Smokey & Neptune

Smokey was surrendered for rescue at 15 hours. Mare rejected her. No colostrum. Infection. Crooked back. Contracted tendons. Couldn’t stand on her own. Severely dehydrated and malnourished on the first day.  Attacked by dogs. Vets didn’t predict she’d make it. But she’s doing great.  A neighborhood stray found her way and made a home in the backyard with her. Smokey And Neptune are a bonded pair since day one.
